Meet Dr. McLay
Dr. McLay is a licensed educational psychologist serving youth and families primarily in North County, San Diego and surrounding areas. Dr. McLay completed her undergraduate education at UCLA (go Bruins!). She attended Chapman University for graduate school. There, she earned her MA in Educational Psychology and EdS in School Psychology. After working as a school psychologist for a few years and starting a family, she returned to Chapman and eventually completed her PhD in Education with an emphasis in School Psychology.
Dr. McLay has over a decade of experience working in public schools. She also has extensive experience working with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams, both in a professional capacity and as a parent of neurodivergent children. As someone who has worn both hats, she strongly feels that parents should be equipped with the knowledge and resources to advocate for their children with confidence. Working with adolescents for most of her career has also illuminated the importance of young people understanding their personal strengths and areas of growth in order to develop strong self-advocacy skills and reach their potential. Dr McLay is committed to collaborating with families to help their children thrive.
